Covered Bridge Days Canoe Race, July 14

The Covered Bridge Days Canoe Race sponsored by En Gedi Campground and Canoe Livery, will be held Saturday, July 14 at 10AM. The race will take place on a 6.12 mile stretch of the St. Joseph River. The launch location will be at the Railroad Street Public Boat Access in Mendon, MI, and the race destination is the Covered Bridge Park (Three Rivers address); under the bridge and to the left.

Check in the day of the race is from 8:30 – 9:30AM at the Mendon Public Boat Access. Race participants may be high school age and up. Every paddler must bring your signed Liability and Media Release or sign a waiver and release upon check in. Participants under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver.

This will be a canoe only race, no kayaks or other watercraft. Motors of any kind are not allowed. You may use canoe paddles only; no kayak paddles. A team may have as many team members as its boat is designed to hold. Personal watercraft needs to be in safe, working order. Every participant is required to wear an approved life jacket for the duration of the race. No alcohol allowed.

Cost to participate is $25 per team / boat. Canoe Rentals are available from The En Gedi Canoe Livery for an additional $25. Please call or text (269) 689-7490 for rental. En Gedi boats are limited to three people and / or 600 pounds. A shuttle service will be provided by En Gedi Canoe Livery to paddlers and boats that need a ride back to Mendon. Awards will be provided by The Covered Bridge Days committee with date and time to be announced.

IMPORTANT TICKET INFO! If you choose to proceed and register online, please read the following ticket information carefully. Each team member needs register individually, but only one team member should purchase a ticket. Decide ahead of time who will submit payment. Other team members will need to choose the "Cash Payment" option on the payment screen. This will provide a ticket without submitting payment. Those tickets will say "Unpaid". Only one team member need present a "Paid" Ticket.
